The premium charged by the insurance company for the modified cars varies depending upon type of modification done in the car. Some modified cars are expensive to insure as companies believe that the ability to control the car generally decreases after any modification, which may lead to more accidents. Modifications that have been done on the body of the car may not lead to a higher insurance quote while those that are done in the engine to raise the speed or decrease the fuel consumption may result in higher insurance rates.
